Online application for admission to 32 government high schools of the
capital, for the 2015 session, began yesterday, Directorate of Secondary
and Higher Education (DSHE) sources said. Application forms will be
available on www.dshe.gsa.edu.bd till 11:59pm on December 12.
This is the first time admission will be sought strictly online. Hard
copies of application forms will not be available in the schools. As per
the DSHE admission circular, no test will be held for admission to
class-I. Students would be selected by lottery on December 27 in
respective schools. Tests would, however, be held for admission to
classes-II to VIII. Students aspiring for admission to class IX will be
selected on the basis of Junior School Certificate (JSC) or Junior
Dakhil Certificate (JDC) results.
The 32 schools have been divided into three groups, namely "A", "B" and "C". Admission test for all schools in group A and Mohammadpur Government High School Feeder Section of group B will be held on December 17, while schools of group B and Dhanmondi Government Boys’ School Feeder Section of group C would be held on December 18. All schools in group C and Khilgaon Government High School Feeder Section of group A would be held on December 20, the circular says.
The schools in group A are Government Laboratory High School Dhaka, Tejgaon Govt. High School, Motijhil Govt. Girls’ High School, Khilgaoun Govt. High School, Nababpur Govt. High School, New Govt. Girls’ High School, Dhaka, Islamia Govt. High School, Dhanmondi Kamrunnessa Govt. Girls’ High School, Rupnagar Govt. High School, Mirpur, Dhaka and Azimpur Girls’ School and College.
The schools in group B are Motijhil Govt. Boys’ High School, Narinda Govt. High School, Govt. Muslim High School, Dhaka, Bangla Bazar Govt. Girls’ High School, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Govt. Girls’ High School, Govt. Science College Combined High School, Dhanmondi Govt. Girls’ High School, Mohammadpur Govt. High School, Hazi M A Gafur Govt. High School, Demra, Dhaka, Bongomata Sheik Fojilatunnessa Mujib Govt. High School, Uttara Dhaka and Jurain Sheik Kamal Govt. High School, Dhaka.

The schools in group C are Dhanmondi Govt. Boys’ High School, Armanitola Govt. High School, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Govt. Girls’ High School, Tikatuly Kamrunnessa Govt. Girls’ High School, Tejgaon Govt. Gilrs’ High School, Dhaka Collegiate School, Gonobhavan Govt. High School, Mirpur Govt. High School, Mirpur, Dhaka, Sohid Sheik Rasel Govt. High School, Hazaribag, Dhaka, Vashantek Govt. High School, Kafrul, Dhaka and Mohammadpur Commercial Institute Govt. High School, Dhaka.
A candidate will be able to apply for only one school in a single group, but would be able to apply in three different schools in three different groups.
