Muttiah Muralitharan Reached The milestone of taking 800 Test wickets.


Muttiah Muralitharan was born on 17 April 1972 in (Kandy) Sri Lanka. Murali is a Sri Lankan cricketer.

On Thursday Muttiah Muralitharan created cricket history.When he became the first bowler to take 800 Test wickets. Murali Achieved his 800th wicket is indian player Pragyan Ojha.

Muralitharan has taken five or more wickets in an innings on 67 occasions in test cricket, which is a world record. In comparison Shane Warne who is in second place has performed the feat 37 times.

He has also taken 10 wickets in a Test match on 22 occasions, 12 times more than Shane Warne, who sits in second in the all-time wicket-takers' list.

Although his career has been plagued by controversy because of his unorthodox bowling action, Muralitharan remains one of the greatest players the game has seen - not to mention one of the most popular.

Muralitharan announced his retirement from Test cricket after the first Test against India at Galle which commenced on 18 July 2010.
